“The Yoga Show” 30-minute Educational Yoga Videos: Instructor and Producer, Gwenn Jones, Auburn Yoga Studio by and for Auburn Community TV, channel 20. The older of these videos (pre-2019) were shot before hi-Def cameras became available for ACTV by Philip Jacques, Cody Hitchcock, Paula Johnston. These days, everything is hi-Def and hi-Praise! Now, practice, practice, practice.
The Yoga Show: “Loosening Back & Hips for Seniors” 08-2022 (30 min.)
Practice these unusual and forgiving moves to ease tension in your hips and back. This session — entirely on your mat — consists of slow and gentle back and hip manipulations, with soft rotations. These are slow, deliberate, dynamic moves which often provide more relief than long, single holds.

Today’s intermediate session is a mighty-mat parade. We open with slow-moving upper body rotations. Reminders of proper knee and shoulder placement are prevalent. Plus, always a winner are Elbow/Forearm planks; side plank with hip dips. WOW MORE! Superman back extensions; lying crunch with straight-leg hip flexion. Grab a strap or belt. Relax and enjoy an ALL-SEATED Super-Gentle, Super-slow stretch sequence for the neck and shoulders. Wonderful work is felt with shoulder and neck rotations, super-soft, comfortable back rotation. Moves are slow and explanations are explicit. Fine for Beginners, less-mobile individuals, or those just wanting gentle focused stretch. Filmed by and for ACTV.
The Yoga Show: “Seniors Gentle Chair Stretch” 03-2022 (30 min.)
Grab a chair and a cushion (optional) for this super slow and gentle stretch for SENIORS. We will glide into deliberate stretches for the back, shoulders, torso, and hips. These yoga chair moves are undemanding and include seated Side stretch, Goddess, Warrior and reverse warrior, with Hip flexor and low back stretches. Today’s practice, specifically for seniors, moves super slowly for plenty of time to prepare before the move, then release after.
